PENILE DUPLEX DOPPLER ULTRASOUND

If you have concerns regarding your erectile function, a Doppler Ultrasound provides answers to the question “WHY” I have ED, “HOW” bad is my ED, and “WHAT” needs to be done to fix my ED forever!

The Studio team uses the Penile Duplex Doppler Ultrasound to determine the cause of your erectile dysfunction.

The biggest problem you will have in finding a resolution to your erectile dysfunction (ED) or other associated sexual problems is the lack of knowledge your doctor has about the many causes of ED, how to diagnose which one(s) are affecting you and what to do about it.

If you have concerns regarding your erectile function, a Doppler Ultrasound provides answers to the question “WHY” do you have ED, “HOW” bad is my ED, and “WHAT” needs to be done to fix my ED forever!

The PDDU is used to produce images of the internal organs via the use of sound waves. This technology provides the Studio team a view of what is going on inside your penis. The PDDU provides very useful information regarding the cause and severity of dysfunction, facilitating the creation of a customized treatment plan and blueprint for resolving ED.

    What is a Doppler ultrasound?

A Doppler Ultrasound is a type of ultrasound that bounces sound waves off red blood cells. A Penile Duplex Doppler Ultrasound is used to evaluate the function of the penis. It begins with an injection that causes an erection. The ultrasound technician is then able to determine the direction and flow of blood in and out of the penis accurately by running a transducer along the outside of the penis. This information helps to differentiate erectile dysfunction problems and can pinpoint other possible medical conditions of the penis.

The erection process requires the coordination of interactions between the arterial, venous, nervous, and capillary systems.

There are sexually stimulated erections that start as a nervous signal in the brain and require neurotransmitter balance and adequate dopamine.
The signal then follows the parasympathetic nervous pathway to the penis where the smooth muscle of the arteries in the penis relax and allow blood to flow into the penis at increased rate and pressure. Once erect, orgasm and ejaculation are dependent on the sympathetic nervous system, and contraction of pelvic bowl muscles. The quantity of ejaculate volume contributes significantly to the pleasure and intense feeling of ejaculation.

There are many reasons why there is penile dysfunction, from decreased sensitivity to poor arterial blood flow to neurological compromise, to back injuries, nerve impingement, and more.

A proper and thorough evaluation is extremely important in order to regain normal healthy function.
All erection and penis evaluations should include a Penile Duplex Doppler Ultrasound (PDDU). A PDDU is a painless test done in the office that looks at the health of your penis, the blood flow in and out of your penis, as well as your prostate, testicles, and general pelvic area, to fully evaluate your penis and help to uncover the cause of your ED problems.

“MY HAT IS OFF TO MEN. It is NO EASY FEAT to get and maintain an erection; though many make it look easy, more than 50% of all adult men struggle with erectile function.”

In addition to evaluating the cause of ED, cancer, Peyronie’s Disease and lumps are all detectable with this type of ultrasound. While a man may enter our office hoping to determine why he is having trouble achieving and maintaining an erection, he can also discover underlying medical conditions that would have otherwise been missed eventually leading to even more serious problems.

The ultrasound can help to detect penile cancer.

Penile cancer is rare, accounting for only 1 percent of cancer found in men in the United States but can become serious if not treated early.

    • Noticeable symptoms of penile cancer may include:
    • Blisters or lesions on the penis
    • Wart-like or raised growth that bleeds or smells badly
    • Presence of one or more lumps and swollen lymph nodes

An ultrasound can detect scar tissue.

Peyronie’s disease, also known as penile fibrosis, is the presence of fibrous scar tissue in the penis that causes painful, bowed erections in some men. It often begins as inflammation and grows into a hardened area that inhibits the proper erection of a penis. Some men feel as though this condition originated from an injury and the Doppler ultrasound can help determine the cause. If the problem does not resolve itself within a year, surgery may be necessary to straighten the penis.

Powerful diagnostic tool for those with sexual wellness concerns
A penile ultrasound may reveal any of these health conditions along with others, leading to an effective treatment that reinstates the full health of the man and the function of his penis. Men should not be shy about concerns related to erectile dysfunction as receiving an ultrasound could end up saving their lives and certainly will provide a more direct path to full recovery of erectile function.

    • Detect abnormalities of the penis; cancer, Peyronie’s Disease, scars, etc.
    • Diagnose arterial insufficiency
    • Detect venous leakage
    • Quantify blood flow abnormalities
    • Determine if large or small vessel disease is present

A morning “reflex” erection is an erection that spontaneously occurs when sleeping or in the case of spinal injury. A penile duplex Doppler ultrasound (PDDU) will assess the ability of the blood vessels in the penis to relax in order to fill the small capillary spaces with blood enough to occlude the venous outflow resulting in a rigid erection. The PDDU provides answers to the question “WHY” I have ED, “HOW” bad is my ED, and “WHAT” needs to be done to fix my ED forever!

Let’s face it… EVERYONE in the room knows when you are struggling with erectile dysfunction (ED). The PDDU provides answers to the question “WHY” do you have ED, “HOW” bad is my ED, and “WHAT” needs to be done to fix your ED forever!

    Don’t Know Where to Start?

The Studio Team is here to serve you.

    INITIAL CONSULTATION

You also have the opportunity to discuss your specific challenges and goals with a sexual medicine expert.

    BLUEPRINT OF SUCCESS

Once we have completed the PDDU and a very comprehensive review of your medical history, we will create a blueprint for success that is customized to the TRUTH about your specific challenges.
