Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI)

Ultraviolet blood irradiation (UBI) was extensively used in the 1940s and 1950s to treat many diseases including sepsis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, arthritis, asthma, and even polio.  The early studies were carried out by several physicians in the USA and published in the American Journal of Surgery.  However, with the development of antibiotics, the use of UBI declined and it has now been called “the cure that time forgot.

Using light as a natural antibiotic…

UBI is a simple, non-toxic FDA approved treatment used to treat a wide array of infections and diseases.  Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI) is not a new procedure.  In fact, here is an article about UBI as The cure that time forgot.

UBI is a procedure that exposes your blood to UV light in order to “boost” your body’s immune response and to kill bacteria and viruses that cause infection.  When exposing small amounts of blood to UV light, bacteria and viruses in your bloodstream absorb much more photonic energy than do your red and white blood cells, creating fragments of the infectious pathogens and a vaccine-like response.

This vaccine-like response further activates and directs your immune system to kill these infecting agents throughout the entire body.

UBI Treatment Procedure

The treatment is very simple and relatively quick.  The procedure itself only takes about half an hour. Blood is drawn with a butterfly needle and tubing, much the same as if you were to donate blood.

Anywhere between 60-360 mL of blood is extracted and travels through a small glass chamber, called a cuvette, which is then exposed twice to ultraviolet light through an instrument called a Hemo-irradiator and returned to the ‘patients’ body using a sterile, closed-loop system.

Most people feel significant improvement in energy and clarity after just a few treatments. Usually, only 3-5 treatments are sufficient.  Severe and chronic conditions may need 10 or more treatments. Treatment is greatly enhanced with other oxidative therapies such as Ozone and supportive IV nutrients.

What Conditions Can Benefit from Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation Therapy?

According to the Foundation For Blood Irradiation (FFBI), research and clinical trials around the world UBI therapy have been effective in treating the following:

Viral Diseases: Very effective in treating infectious, Herpes, Shingles, Mononucleosis, Mumps, Measles, Pneumonia, Influenza, HIV/AIDS

Bacterial Infections:  Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, E. coli, salmonella, otitis media, Pneumonia, C. difficile, Lyme disease, skin infections, wound infections (Including those which are antibiotic-resistant)

Fungal Infections:  Candidiasis                 Protozoa:  Malaria

Autoimmune conditions or Hypersensitive Immune reactions: Allergies, Asthma, Psoriasis.  According to the American cancer society, clinical trials look promising for the treatment of immune system diseases such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, rejection of transplanted organs, and graft-versus-host disease.

Poor Oxygen:  Emphysema, COPD

Low Blood Counts: anemia

Poor Circulation: varicose veins, diabetic ulcers/gangrene, non-healing wounds, peripheral vascular diseases, Raynaud’s, vascular headaches/migraines (decreases clotting, reduces blood viscosity, repairs damaged blood cells)

Others: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Poor Immune Function, Arthritis – Adjunctive Conditions, Infertility, PCOS, PID, Pre-operative protective effects improves blood sugar and cholesterol levels, alkalizes the blood, general detoxification
